About
Twin Jewels is an emerging Texas punk band consisting of rockers Wendell (guitar/lead vocals), Josh (bass/back up vocals), and Tom (drums). Formed in the college town of Denton (UNT - North Texas), their sound is greatly influenced by legendary punk bands such as the Ramones and Descendents.
Twin Jewels was created to spread the word about living life in the now and having fun every moment. They have shared the stage with many bands - including Bowling for Soup, Riddlin' Kids, Mower, Pimpadelic, Hagfish, Soak, and the Burden Brothers. They have played popular venues such as Galaxies in Sasebo, Japan, Trees, Curtain Club, and Club Clearview in Deep Ellum. Preparing for their 2005 tour, Twin Jewels will be performing in cities across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado, and Florida. The band released their latest album "ya'll is mad stupid" in summer of 2004.
Some history:
Wendell Lipscomb originated the name Twin Jewels in 1999. He had a vision to start a punk rock band that would be musically diverse. Stemming from rock, jazz, and punk, Twin Jewels began playing in August 2000. Twin Jewels' formula is "focusing on the great fun in life" - a feel good band that plays to the needs of spirited youngsters. "I began this band with the idea of spreading fun and enthusiasm," said Wendell. Twin Jewels released their album "Give Me Your Lunch Money!" in January 2003 with producer Eric Delegard. Their new album "ya'll is mad stupid" (produced by Alex Gurst and Brandan Narrell) released August 2004.
