Trees is Closing
I've been hearing rumors for a couple of weeks now. The first semi-official thing I've heard about it is from FFTN's email list. Apparently the final show is 2006-01-01. According to Robert Miguel's myspace page, the final show features Daimoniom, FFTN, Fray, Frolic, Honchie, Lame, Panic Value, and Rocket Queen.Links about the closing:

About
From their website:Trees, Dallas' premier live music venue, has been the cornerstone for music in North Texas for 11 years. From local and regional up-and-corners, to international superstars, Trees has played host to them all, as both a venue to play, and a place to hang out while in town. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, PJ Harvey, Love and Rockets, The Toadies, Dave Matthews Band, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Stereolab, Hootie and the Blowfish, and The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones have all graced our stage over the years. Just in the last few months we've had such notables as Link Wray, Cowboy Mouth, Reverend Horton Heat, Better Than Ezra, The Wallflowers, Sebadoh, Son Volt, Wilco, Charlatans UK, and Sneaker Pimps.
We constantly strive to improve our facility to better meet Dallas' live entertainment needs. We recently enlarged and raised our stage to allow the bands more room, and to improve the view throughout the club, from both the balcony areas and the floor. This coupled with our recent updating of the sound to a state-of-the-art system makes us one of the only live music venues of our size in the country to be this cutting edge. Trees is a winner of countless awards and accolades from the Dallas Observer, The Met, and The Dallas Morning News, as well as numerous national publications since it's opening. Trees has proven to be the most prolific music venue of it's kind in the Southwest and will continue to bring you the best in live music on into the new millenium.
