SSD is now searching for completely new line-up
Saturday, July 02, 2005
SSD is now searching for a completely new line-up to go with Jeff and Kelly. That leaves guitar, drums, and bass to fill. "We'd REALLY love to find two guys (drums & bass) who were at one point the full rhythm section of another rock band." This way they would already be familiar with each other's style and have chemistry together. "That would be ideal, but we're looking at all options right now." Bottom line is we need guys who are young, road-ready, and who aren't married w/ kids or married to a job/career. It will take a while, but we are ready to make this our full time job, so working toward that is all we focus on. So, we need like minded guys to fill our open spots. E-mail jeff@sevenstorydrop.com

Recording version 2.0
Thursday, June 30, 2005
Additional recording & production is being put into the 3 new songs recorded for release this summer. Some elements of the music were left off the final producer's mix & we feel like these songs should be presented the way we want them to sound.
This additional recording is going very well & quickly. We hope you can bear with us a little longer. It will be well worth it. Thanks.

Steve would like to say goodbye!
June 1, 2005
Well SSD fans, Steve Allen would like to say goodbye. Steve and his wife Shannon are pregnant, and are expecting their first child in August. Steve's gonna go be a responsible, and full time family man. We want to thank Steve for everything he did for SSD. Steve helped SSD gain a lot of recognition, and get a long way with his great drumming. Those are some big shoes to fill, and he's gonna be missed greatly. We very proud and happy for them, and wish them all the best.

Old Biography
Seven Story Drop blends dynamics and emotion into a modern rock sound that has helped to make this band one of Dallas's premier headlining acts. Formed in 2000 by Current and Dietz, SSD began playing the Dallas Deep Ellum and Arlington music scenes. The self-titled EP was recorded in 2001 and featured early fan favorites "Mother Theresa" and "Stuck".
The exit of the original drummer and lead guitarist allowed SSD to find drummer Steve Allen and guitarist/songwriter Kelly Panter in 2002. The improved lineup quickly began working on writing new song material and focusing on the band's new direction and sound. SSD entered the studio in the fall of 2003 to record it's first full-length album with Alex Gerst of Indian Trail Studios. The album, titled 'Gravity', was released independently in January of 2004 and brought the band both regional and national attention from industry insiders and music fans. Two singles, "Last Man Standing" and "Thank You (For The Song)", were featured on Dallas' 97.1 The Eagle's Local Show with Robert Miguel. Miguel began including the band on many of his showcases featuring many of the top local and regional bands. The album was nominated for 3 awards in the Local Awards sponsored by Screamformedallas.com. SSD was nominated for best Rock album of the Year, best Rock band of the Year, and Outstanding Acoustic Performance of the Year. The increased attention helped to establish SSD as one of the newest up-and-coming headliners in the Dallas Deep Ellum club scene.
Guitarist Eric White was added in December 2004 to be the final piece to the band's lineup. The band recently finished recording 3 new tracks with producer Eric Delegard at his studio, Reeltime Audio, in Denton, TX. The EP will be released in summer 2005.
Seven Story Drop's debut album Gravity is available now. Get it at a live show or send us a msg for how to get it while our new website is being completed. The album features all four songs listed on this profile plus: Can't Be, Nowhere To Go, Weakest Man, Chime, For The Moment, All I've Ever Known.
