Sam Machkovech

Sam Machkovech is the creator and editor of bigDlittled.com, a music site focused largely on the independent music scenes of Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth and surrounding cities. A graduate from the University of Texas at Austin's prestigious Plan II Honors program, Sam previously served as the music editor for the Dallas Observer, where his CD reviews and band interviews were reprinted throughout the Village Voice Media syndicate. He began his writing career at 15 years old as a critic for the Dallas Morning News, reviewing video games and gadgets for over five years in the paper's "Electronic Adventures" column. After graduating college in December 2002, Sam returned to Dallas to freelance for the Dallas Observer's calendar and music sections, later becoming the paper's music listings editor and eventually music editor.
