Rhythm is relaunching
According to their blog posed September 10, 2006:
Wow! What to say? We didn't expect this to happen. We didn't see it coming. Yes, Rhythm is re-launching as a band. Now wait, before you dismiss us, I promise I will explain. First, allow us to say "thank you." You'll never know how good it felt to see new and familiar names posting regards, prayers, encouragement and support on our myspace page. That's fuel for any band. So, again, thank you for taking the time to love on us.
After 15 years of ministry, Rhythm honestly believed it was time to shut the doors to this business. Because we didn't hate each other when we agreed to stop, we weren't excited about calling it quits, we just felt it was time. I guess God saw something else. Now, I won't bore you with the details of how it all came about in this email/post , but I will tell you why, along with where we are and where we're going.
Rhythm is not coming back together for us as much as we're coming back for you. That's not to sound vain as much as it's to show our purpose. Honestly, God didn't give us this talent for self gratification, it's to be shared.
With a revived heart, renewed vision, and refocus, we're ready to re-launch ourselves back into the churches and any venues that would have us. Where we are is no accident. With that mindset we're pursuing every show as an opportunity to showcase our faith. No, I don't mean with a bullhorn. Rhythm wants to stay true to being tasteful, enjoyable, lovable, and we still want to use our music as the instrument that tells the story while exemplifying a God-fearing life style. So, as we "relaunch" our careers we ask for your prayers and vocal support. And along with that we also beg for your presence.
Rhythm's "Relaunch" show is October 6 at The Curtain Club in Dallas (Deep Ellum), TX. We're asking for as many of you to make your way to this date. Be sure you bring at least 3 of your friends. This re-launch is not another hot date on the calendar, it's a unity of hearts- Rhythm and their friends showing up for a night of celebration. Who are our friends? YOU. What better way to display unity than to ask our friends Chris August (formally Megert) and new found buddies Green River Ordinance to share the stage with? You'll find all the details below. We hope and pray we'll see you and your friends there.

Rhythm is disbanding
From their MySpace page:
Hello Family, Friends, and our faithful Fans.
Reggie here (lead vocal). You know what, I'm not gonna drag you along. I'm not gonna give you this encouraging newsletter and have your mouth drop because you didn't see the end coming. Nope, I'm just gonna say it, plus the subject gives it away. Rhythm is preparing for their farewell show. Yep, you heard (read) right. It's time for Rhythm to say goodbye. Now, I don't want to assume that you're shocked but just in case you are I'll pause. Are you okay? Can you breathe? Good.
We want and need to have one final show to say thank you for giving Rhythm a career that we have so enjoyed, doing the very thing that so many people envy.
Allow me to explain to you the reason for our departure, but before I do, I need to first tell you what you should not believe.
Do not believe
And finally, do not believe that the band is disbanding because I'm getting married. None of these are the basis of our decision. Sure, some of these things may have played a role, but they were not the base. Fortunately, having God as our Father, we only answer to Him.
We're bringing the band to a close because the time has arrived. I believe it's been beckoning at our door for a while, but we didn't want to see it. We didn't want to believe that our time was up. We didn't want to become a statistic by being a band that couldn't make it. True, we pursued fame and fortune as most performing artists do, but we just didn't make it. Wait. Or did we? I'm reminded that fame and fortune is in the eye of the beholder. Sounds like love doesn't it?
I don't want to turn this into a bragging session, so I'll just say that the things we saw, the places we traveled, the people we met, and of course, the fellas we shared all this with--wow! In fact a lot of our close friends started out as loyal fans. After many years as a band and ministry, we can humbly look back and say, Wow. We did it and we did it good.
I told my manager I wouldn't make this long, but as I write I realize there is so much to say, so many memories, so many places, and then there you are. Yeah, you. Because of YOU, Rhythm has 15 years under their belt. 15! You liked us enough to invite us out to your churches, your clubs, your b-day parties, your weddings, your homes, and even your cars. Ha! We've even been fortunate enough to play inside a McDonalds and at a Wal-Mart parking lot. Not a lot of bands can say that (*smiling). Physically or by YOU let us into your lives. And for that, we can't thank you enough. We will try, though, by giving you a farewell show that you will not forget.
Visit our website often (RhythmOnline.com) as were soon to list the date of our farewell show sometime in September. We will not be canceling any dates either, so as we are winding down, please make it to as many shows as you can!
Thank you again for making the lives of every past and present Rhythm member worthwhile.

Do not believe
- We are quitting.
- The record label mistreated us or changed us. In fact, they allowed us to continue to be who weve always been: honest with our art and talent.
- We fought over money.
- We fought over whose turn it was to be the lead singer.
- We fought over who was babysitting our managers kid this time.

About
From the wikipedia entry on Rhythm:Rhythm was signed in 2005 to EMG (Executive Music Group) Records/Lightyear/Warner Entertainment (WEA/Word Distribution). September 27th, 2005 marked the date that Rhythm unveiled The Forward Concept, their highly-anticipated major-label debut.
The Forward Concept hails the production talent of the Pipes Brothers (no.1 song "Breakfast At Tiffany's") and David Castell ( Blue October, Deep Blue Something, SouthFM ). Rhythm's 10-song album includes insightful messages, including the topics of joy and forgiveness, found in tracks such as, Beautiful World, Surrounded, and Smile.
The cornerstone of Rhythm's success has been their highly energetic live performances. Their music is a distinct combination of modern rock and vintage funk that is destined to make a lasting impression on anyone who listens. Matt Mungle (89.7 PowerFM), one of Dallas' most respected radio personalities, said it best, "I never tire of watching the faces of those who are seeing Rhythm for the first time. They are captivated and a fan for life."
Touring nationwide, Rhythm has shared the stage with MercyMe, Switchfoot, Newsboys, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Erykah Badu, Salvador, Blessed Union of Souls, Kirk Franklin, Newsong, and more. Rhythm's infectious energy, catchy hooks, and incredible sound combine to make them one of the most entertaining bands around.
