Phil is a very soulful and talented blues/rock player. Phil has played with the very best blues players in town, such as Hash Brown, Marvin Seals, Hal Harris, Tutu Jones, Johnny Woods and Alligator Records recording artist Lucky Peterson, just to name a few.
Phil is a very gifted song writer and is also featured on Kevin Moore's current C D Times of Transformation available now. Phil and Kevin are a powerful and creative combination in both acoustic and electric venues.
Kevin Moore got serious about his guitar playing in 1979. He did a short stint as a bass player with Mike D'amur of the Blues Image "Ride Captain Ride" fame.
Kevin started his own band in 1980 called "Changes" playing parties and clubs in Dallas. After "Changes" split up in 1987, Kevin put performing on hold and concentrated on composing music.
In 1990 Kevin began playing music in public again. In 1995 Kevin became the house guitarist at the Winedale Tavern, of all places, little did he know he was on a path to steady gigs and great players.
In no time Kevin played with the likes of Bob Ackerman, Buddy West, Rick Yost, Michael Martin Murphy and Josh Alan. Kevin went on to form "Crash Cadillac" with David Jennings Of "Cause and Effect". In 1998 "Crash Cadillac's" self titled C D received air time on Magic 102.9 and 94.5 The Edge. Kevin has released 2 C D's And just released his third C D entitled Times of Transformation. Kevin has played many solo gigs around the DFW area.
Kelly started playing bass in the late 70s,listening to the likes Of Rush, Zep, Yes And Cream.I‘ve played with bands Around the Dallas area including Stiletto, Vinnie rose Out of Order/Contagious. Kelly was awarded bass player of the Month by Buddy magazine Sep.96 and was awarded bass Player of the year 96 by Buddy magazine in the around Arlington Series, for his unique style and techniques. He is a very melodic and rhythmic bassist with killer tone. He is returning from a 6-year layoff from the music scene and he is very blessed to be playing again.
Rod Coffey
Sixties power drummer, Rodrico Coffey started out at the beginning of the Beatlemania Crazies. Many of the bands that he played with have become part of Oklahoma and Texas' rock lore. Lemon Fog, Basenge Brothers, Weatherford Station and True Love to name a few, (True Love was one of the backup bands for Vanilla Fudge in 1969.) Rodrico has jammed with the likes of Steppenwolf, the Barry Evans Trio, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Clip Fairchild. One of the last old rock, big kit, power drummers still playing Rodrico brings energetic polyrythms and drumming moods to Phil and the Phatcats reflective of strong R&B roots mixed with plain old in your face Southern Rock.
Together they are Phil and The Phat Cats. As you can tell from their influences their music crosses many styles. Their music reaches people of all ages and They are musicians who play for the love of music.
