Biography

From the Bastet website:
Leo was born and raised to humble beginnings in the small town of San Angelo, in West Texas. On a magical night in August 1987, 10 year old Leo was mesmerized after seeing "La Bamba", the true story of a young poor Hispanic who was launched into musical stardom shortly before crashing down on a wintry night. The movie quickly inspired Leo to emulate "Ritchie and his Flying Guitar". Leo's Dad began teaching him basic chords, which young Leo would show off at recess and music class - show and tells. From there, the young fervent musician played for hours a day, transforming himself to a true band geek by junior high. His love for music spread to the trombone, taking him to heights of numerous competitions, music lessons, and even band camp, eventually catapulting Leo to Head Drum Major by senior year of high school. By college, Leo was playing in jazz ensembles at Angelo State as well as Texas Tech, where he was enrolled in architecture. Though his primary focus had shifted to career, his love for music - the soulful giver of life, was beckoning. Leo began honing his craft in front of crowds at open mikes, first in Lubbock, then in Dallas where he moved in 2001. On yet another magical night, playing open mike to a crowd of strangers at Club Dada, Leo's musical journey with Bastet began.
