Paul Williams - Chief Engineer
Last Beat Recording Studio opened in 1993. In May 1999, Last Beat Studios completed a major renovation. Remodeling was done by the international design team of Ted Rothstein, Nick Griffiths and Alan Fierstein.
Ted Rothstein, of TR Technologies, has been an audio industry innovator all of his life. Since 1970, Rothstein has been designing recording studio audio systems worldwide. Past projects and clients include Jimi Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios; Bearsville Sound in Woodstock; Pink Floyd's Britannia Row, London, England; Studio Katy, Brussels, Belgium; Hljodriti Studio, Reykjavik, Iceland. He has also designed professional home studios for Ace Frehely, Todd Rundgren and Roger Waters. Rothstein has also designed sound systems for many clubs and restaurants including Studio 54, Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood.
Nick Griffiths has consulted with Rothstein on many of his studio design projects. Griffiths is also a noted producer and engineer. His credits include Pink Floyd's The Wall, as well as work with Joy Division, Squeeze, Killing Joke and John Peel's Peel Sessions. Griffiths was also Sound Director and Producer of the live performance of The Wall in Berlin. Griffiths also was instrumental in building Roger Waters home studio and Brittania Row Studios in England. Grififths is currently on tour with Roger Waters as Sound Production Engineer.
Alan Fierstein is the founder and president of Acousilog, Inc. which provide acoustical consulting services, and manufacture acoustical test gear and recording studio equipment. Fierstein has had over 25 years experience designing custom electronic systems and has acted as acoustical consultant for recording studios, nightclubs and performance halls, including Caranigie Hall. His writings on sound engineering and acoustics have been featured in Billboard, the New York Times, db Magazine, Mix Magazine, and Sound Engineering Magazine.
Last Beat Studio has both analogue and digital formats, offering the latest in state of the art technology as well as an assortment of vintage gear.
Last Beat Studio is located in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas, Texas. The studio is a secure, first class, comfortable environment in which to work. Rates are currently being quoted on a project by project basis. Both hourly and lockout rates are available.

History
From their website:* 1991 - Last Beat began as an independent record store in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas, Texas. The store carried all kinds of independent music as well as hosting some great in-stores including Iggy Pop, Marilyn Manson, Mocket and Karp.
- 1993 - Last Beat opens a recording studio and becomes a record label.
- 1995 - Closed the music store to focus on the studio.
- 1999 - Last Beat outstanding new recording studio debuts.
- 2000 - Last Beat rehearsal studios open.
