While in St. Louis a while back, we rented a Dodge Charger R/T. April drove it briefly, and decided that she liked it. And of course, I have no problem owning another HEMI, since I drive a Dodge Ram. It's a much nicer vehicle stock then mine was. It came with Sirius radio, a 6 disk CD changer, leather seats with butt warmers, and a sun roof. It's fancy.

But stock just doesn't cut it.

So far, I haven't made that many changes.

  • Air Induction: I have installed a cold air induction kit and throttle body spacer from Airaid. It made a pretty big difference from what I can feel. Until I get a programmer or put it on a dyno I have no idea what it really did for the car. Check out pictures from the installation.
  • Window tinting: It's a beautiful black car. With black tinting, it's a more beautiful black car. We had Car Toys tint the windows.

Future upgrades include:

  • Performance Exhaust: Since it's my wife's car, she has some say in what I get to do to her vehicle. She doesn't want her HEMI to be really loud, so I can't give it the throaty roar that my truck has with its Flowmaster. Reading about the different performance exhaust manufacturers, it looks like Borla makes a muffler that increases performance without greatly increasing the sound it makes. If we can't do that, I might have to go with a Flowmaster muffler with their Delta flow technology.
  • Headers: I'll have to see what the JBA headers do to my truck before deciding what to do with April's HEMI.
  • Sound Dampening: Protection from exterior noise is one of the things that luxury vehicles have that other cars do not. While the Charger does have a relatively quiet interior, I would like to put some Dynamat sound dampening on it as well.
  • New Tires: The stock Goodyears suck. I'm thinking of maybe some Pirelli performance tires.
  • Subwoofer: The stock sound system isn't bad. But a subwoofer makes any system better. I'm hoping that the system that I get in my truck will convince April that she wants one too.
