10011: Sitting...

By: omnicolor

Sitting in the depths of the pit, after staying out much later then was smart, I got to thinking... Why? Why do we do some of the stupid shit we do? There are so many actions that we do daily that really have no point. Why do we pretend any of this matters? There is no good reason to believe it does matter. And if it doesn't matter, why do we cry when it's over? Nothing lasts forever. And if nothing lasts forever, why do we have lifetime garauntees? A lifetime is until something stops working. Why do things just stop working? Stopping is the natural state. Why do we consider some things natural, and others man made? Humans are natural, and they make the materials out of natural materials, so everything is natural. Why do we make these materials that don't return to their environment? We seem to be sadistic in that respect, shitting where we sleep. Why do we sleep? Sleep seems to be a poor defense mechanism. And why must we defend ourselves? Cause we're too depraved to leave each other alone. How can you truly be alone, with billions of others in the same space that is relatively small on the cosmic scale? Remember that scales may not be to scale. Why do we feel the need to put ourselves on the mercy of the uncaring scale? It's just another number to track and catagorize us by. Why did we invent numbers? Imagine the guy that first figured it out. Why do we imagine anything? That seems such a waste of energy. What is energy? Energy is a concept made up by man. Why do we make abstract concepts? We need to explain the dark. Why are we afraid of the dark? There'd be no reason for all the fancy clothes in the dark. Why do we care about wearing fancy name brand clothes? We need to fit in. Why do we need to fit in? We could pretend non of it matters, and save money. Why do we need money? Barter is such a superior form of trade, with no trails, no record keeping. Why do we keep records of everything? Are we that afraid of chaos? Chaos proves that whatever you do can end up in a totally different way then expected, so there's no reason to plan ahead. Why do we plan ahead when it doesn't matter?
