01110: Realizations of a Lifeguard

By: omnicolor

Today was the first day of the lifeguarding season. Watching all the morons in the area wade into the unheated water and then complain about how cold it was made me think of how stupid people are. I mean, of course the water was going to be cold. It had just come from cold pipe from a cold source and then sat out in cold weather. But they all had to come out on the first day of the season, knowing from the time they had done it the year before that the water was going to be freezing, and then they complain about it.

And this seems to be the way people as a whole seem to be going. When someone can reap the rewards of our justice system by being street scum, there's something wrong. I mean, what kind of moronic jury would give someone money for breaking into someone else's home and being shot while on the premises. How could you think of sueing? You're a scumbag, you got shot because of it. But with our justice system that slaps criminals on the wrist while imposing harsh sentences on those that merely attempted to protect themselves. And then there's the morons without a braincell that spill coffee ON THEMSELVES, and then sue. While I think the people that are stupid enough to put a scalding hot cup of coffee in between their legs, a place where any man will tell you not to put anything that could possibly hurt you, clumsy enough to spill coffee on themselves, and then pretenious enough to sue the company because their tops weren't right? What kind of shitty broken down poor quality xerox of a justice system do we run here?

While I think people that sue for their own stupidity should be fined for putting undue burden on the already overworked and understaffed courts, I think the average American is to blame. Imagine this: You've been called into jury duty. You take a little test to show you have no bias, and then the lying slimeballs each side has hired attempt to convince you that the idocy put forth by them is more real then the particular brand of lies put forth by the other guy. And somehow, you let them believe that the burglar that broke into someone's house and was shot was this poor innocent victim of a broken home while the owner of the house was shown to be an evil fast drawing Dirty Harry wannabe taking advantage of a homeless kid in a pathetic attempt to act out his fantasies, who was really just interested in protecting his property, an action that spurred the creation of the very country that affords criminals to get away with utter bullshit like this.

As a lifeguard, I've been bound by my training to attempt to save the lives on ANYONE that I see that needs emergency medical care. However, as an individual concerned about the current state of affairs, I've come to the conclusion that people are an unnecessary evil and must be totally eliminated from this world. We've been behind the wheel of the green and blue pinto that we're nodding off at the wheel. Our planet could be a shining new Ferrari, but we're treating it like mommy and daddy's old station wagon. Sure we can fit alot of people in it, but pretty soon the struts start breaking down. The cruise control is stuck on full and we've got too many people on the ride to have enough room to move the steering wheel, heading to whatever comes our way.
