10000: Style
By: omnicolorIn the grand scheme of things, we're all so unimportant it frightens me sometimes. Out of the entire recorded history of mankind, how many people are remembered? One percent? Less? Most likely. So the odds are very much against you. You will not be remembered for long. No one will read about you in a history book. Even today, with the media ubituous eye catching nearly everything, how many people are known world wide? And then take into account the size of the rest of the universe, and how important even the most remembered people were drops to zero. No one cares. It's all futile, all of us searching for rememberance, running like a hamster in a wheel, we work and work and work, and get absolutely no where. All the first impressions, all the worrying about what we look like, what we smell like, how nice we dress, none of it matters. It will never matter. While we may not be able to get as far not looking all that great, the entire society could use some loosening up. Forget to shave today. Notice how natural that feels. Maybe not all that comfortable, but liberating at the same time. Shave and forget to put on some aftershave. Does that feel natural? Forget to put on your makeup. Feel the air hitting your face, your REAL face, instead of your Avon mask that you force yourself to wear everyday. What's that you say? I look terrible if I don't shave, I look terrible if I don't wear my makeup. You know what? Those both can be changed. If you never shaved, or never wore makeup, no one would notice. If you stopped right now, people would notice at first, then they'd adapt and not notice it. Stop worrying about your hair and switch to an easier to maintain style. It makes no sense to pretend what you look like really matters all that much, since realistically, you don't matter all that much, and the people you're trying to impress matter even less.
