A Warm Breath

By: Dave Balentine

to sea, emotions are flighted
carried aloft by immaculate wings
of confidence
derived from life
in spite of knowledge
an eternity of wisdom shall
evermore reign o'er the soul
commandeering truth to be shown
revealed from 'neath
the scorns of education
on and on venture thoughts
to relieve my pain
to bestow what love may live
to the hearts and passions
of my dear dear companion
reality is an idea best
found in absence of others
think not that the winds
from society shall overcome
for a breeze from the soul
should overcome lies blown
from raw strength, from cold winds
yes, the warm breath emerging
from your heart has a power all its own
and an immunity to the spoils of time
