Untitled
By: Allison HaltermanFloating in a sea of memories
they come one by one
no conern for my desire
to stifle them
so many things I'd like to forget.
They pound the inside
of my head.
Demanding to be heard.
Shoving them away
into the dark corners
of my subconscience
only makes them more persistant.
I long to forget
to only think of you
to push away memories
of others.
I want to be lost in you touch
without flashes
of someone best forgotten.
I want to feel you beside me
without the intruder
stealing the moment from me.
I want to rid myself
of the one thought
that stains my pleasure.
But it pounds away
inside my mind.
Never letting me let go,
and forget.
they come one by one
no conern for my desire
to stifle them
so many things I'd like to forget.
They pound the inside
of my head.
Demanding to be heard.
Shoving them away
into the dark corners
