Digital Darkness Zine Issue 11

The Revival... Volume 2 Issue 1... Released 12 May 1998 Issn: 1099-8446 (c): 1997 Digital Darkness

I used to derive such pleasure out of producing my electronic magazine. It was my sounding board for the world, my soapbox for spouting the truths that I have come upon in my life. While it is true that I didn't have anything new to say, what I did say was straight from the core of me. Since I've sold out and started printing the zine in hard copy, what I say is now dictated by whether people will pay money to read it. Profit margins and all the evils of money have come into my publishing. When it was free I didn't have anything to say, I hadn't matured enough to share my real viewpoints. Then I had something to say, but people wanted to hear it for free. So I'm going to fall back into my old e-zine format, a much more friendly medium for broadcasting any position I may choose to take. And you, the reader, are the whole reason for this magazine. Gone are the old submissions, the tired begging for people to write something. If you want to write something, we'd love to print it, but if you don't, I can fill volumes with my life, my desires, my hopes and dreams. If you don't like it, voice your opinion. I want to hear it. I want to mold my magazine into what it set out to be in the beginning, a free-form booth for the messages of the underdogs.

Anyway, here's issue one of The Revival. It's a reincarnation of sorts, the same spirit in a new form. Or maybe it's a possession, a new spirit inhabiting the old body. At any rate, I hope you like what you read, and I hope you feel the need to share with me your thoughts on my little window into the world. This zine is who I am, who I aspire to be, who I have been.
