Callithump, LLC is a local & national booking agency which specializes in show promotion/production and artist management.
I'm not taking on any more bands/artists, at the moment. Keep in touch though, as shows come up from time to time that I can pair artists with & I hope to add more to my roster eventually. For a flat fee, I can help book you a show here & there, just e-mail me for details.
I'm assisted by my friend, Mar, with promotions. She makes sure events/shows are submitted to local media, fills in when I'm away and is a valuable part of Callithump. All booking inquiries still go through me, but she helps make sure booked shows get promoted even more.
Current artists that book exclusively through Callithump, LLC are: The Happy Bullets; The Tah-Dahs; Ashburne Glen; Cartright and The Naptime Shake. I'm the manager, as well as booking agent, for Prayer for Animals.
I've booked shows & my artists with several Dallas area bands as well as some national, ie. The Earlies, The Black Angels, Ghostland Observatory, Eagle*Seagull, Minmae, etc... Past artists I've worked with include: Mazinga Phaser II, The Black Arm Band, Rain Dogs, Flatwater Circus, etc...
From a recent review of a Callithump Showcase in the Dallas Observer: "The only thing the three Dallas acts on last Wednesday's Callithump Productions bill at the Darkside Lounge had in common was an invite to SXSW. Nothing musically linked the sleepy-time guitarwork of Crushed Stars, the manic, confessional rap of Pikahsso and the Strange Boys' whiny-voiced garage punk, and the pre-fest showcase was all the better for it... Rap-rock aside, rappers and rock bands rarely play the same shows in Dallas, and hopefully, showcases like this will change that. Everyone I spoke to at the show, musicians and audience alike, agreed the experiment was a success."
Also, this appeared in the 6/22/06 issue of the Dallas Observer: "Everybody in Dallas, give it up for Callithump Productions. In its short lifespan, the local booking upstart has quickly grown from aimless infant to badass teen, and this Callithump showcase proves it by proudly showcasing two of the area's most outstanding new acts." (Teenage Symphony & Tame...Tame and Quiet)
