Adrienne Singletary was born on August 16th in Austin, Texas. Throughout her life, music has always played a great part. As a child she was exposed to country music and the "oldies," and was always singing along to the radio in her father's truck. Her early influences ranged from The Judds to Mariah Carey.

As she grew a little older she decided to take her love of music a little more seriously and began singing lessons. It was in those early singing lessons that she found her love of show tunes...yes, show tunes. It was then that she became deeply engrossed in Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals and even considered a career in Broadway, and this was only at the age of eleven! At thirteen she decided that singing was not enough and began taking piano lessons along with singing in the school choir. As the years passed by her influences changed and she abandoned the idea of Broadway and decided to try opera Apparently singing in English was just too easy. Yes, it was Italian arias and German love songs for her. In college she began a music degree in vocal performance, but quickly abandoned the idea of becoming an opera singer; the horned hat and breast plate just didn't appeal to her after all. She also tried jazz, but was still not satisfied.

In the back of her mind she secretly wanted to sing her own music. With influences like Lisa Loeb, Sheryl Crow, and Sarah McLachlan, she began to search for a band. Not having much experience in the band scene, she looked for the right band to come along. She found it in an ad for a female singer and quickly responded to it. After hearing them and auditioning for backing vocals she was accepted thus beginning her start in rock music. In this band she met John Skeels, who quickly caught her eye as someone who was just as passionate about music as she was. She and John began a wonderful relationship which sprouted into a musical journey. Ah, how poetic...Anyways, after awhile John and Adrienne decided to combine their musical talents and began writing songs together. Thus giving birth to Bastet! Now Adrienne is finishing up her music degree and singing the music she enjoys in a band of wonderfully talented musicians. What more can a girl ask for?!
