So what does it sound like when three engineers and a steel salesman get together to make music? We think our band of unlikely rockers has created a unique alternative sound that might remind you of early Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighers, or My Chemical Romance.
A Thousand Miles From Home was formed in Dallas, TX in 2005. When it came time to choose a name for the new project, many hours of brainstorming yielded nothing. Did you expect three engineers and a steel salesman to be creative? The theme that all four members happened to be transplants from distant cities far from Texas (Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, Tampa) eventually surfaced and finally A Thousand Miles From Home was born.
After several months of songwriting and rehearsal, the band is now in the studio recording an EP of original material for self-release in 2006. We are currently performing live shows in the DFW area with our diverse set of 10-12 original songs. You may have seen us at the Curtain Club, What?Bar, or Texas Tea House.
